Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool can make a successful push for top four

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has admitted that reaching the top four and qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League will be difficult. Still, he remains confident in his team's ability to do so.

Liverpool currently sit seventh on the log, three places below the last UCL qualification spot, but are only nine points behind Tottenham, who occupy fourth place and have two games in hand compared to Spurs.

The first of Liverpool’s two games in hand comes against Wolves, who beat Liverpool 3-0 earlier this month, but that has not deterred Klopp’s confidence in his team eventually getting the results they need and securing a top-four finish.

Speaking ahead of their crucial encounter with Wolves on Wednesday, Klopp said he had not seen any signs from his players to suggest they were incapable of catching up to Tottenham, telling journalists, “nothing I saw since the last game in training gave me the impression we don't have a chance. The few sessions we had looked good.

“I know we all understand, players as well, so we have to give it a proper, proper, proper go in this game tomorrow night against a team we played more often than any other team I think this season.”

Klopp further backed his team to do the seemingly impossible just as they have done in previous seasons, saying, “The obvious spots are not too far away from us and we will see which one we can pick up.

“I really think we are ready, if there is a club who can do it, I think it is us.”

Liverpool have won only two of their last five Premier League matches, a run that includes the 3-0 loss to Wolves in the reverse fixture, but they will be hoping they can exact revenge on the Wanderers when they visit Anfield to kick-start the most important part of their season.
