Kwara United played their first stanza home games at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan
The Organisers of Nigeria's elite league, Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), and the Interim Management Committee (IMC) have approved a new home ground for Kwara United.
Kwara United have been approved to adopt the Akure Township Stadium as their new home ground for the second round of the 2022/2023 NPFL.
In a letter signed by the IMC Head of Competition Department, Sunday Johnson Obaseki said the approval takes effect from NPFL Matchday ten.
IMC advised Kwara United to put all necessary logistics in place at Akure Township Stadium.
“We are pleased to inform you that the NPFL has approved your request to adopt Akure Township Stadium as your home ground, effective from the Matchday 10 fixture, Kwara United FC versus El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri.
“You are advised to put all necessary logistics in place at Akure Township Stadium for hitch-free games for the rest of the season”, the letter read in part.
Why Kwara United adopting a new home ground
The Ilorin based NPFL football club are adopting new home ground this season beause their home ground, Ilorin stadium is undergoing renovation.
The team started the season at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
Kwara United win a single game out of Four games in Ibadan
The Harmony boys only win a single game out of the four home matches played at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
The team played a draw in an away game against the homers, Shooting Stars Sports Club.
Kwara United drew the other two matches against Gombe United and Remo Stars, lost to Bendel Insurance by a solitary goal, and defeated Akwa United 2-1.
