Kylian Mbappe reached another goalscoring landmark with PSG with his goal in Les Parisien's win over Lens
Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has reached another major milestone with the Ligue 1 giants in their 3-1 win over Lens in Gamweek 31.
Mbappe inspires PSG victory over Lens
Mbappe opened the scoring against Lens in the 19th minute with a brilliant effort into the far corner to bring his tally for the 2022/23 season to 20 goals.
He also assisted PSG’s third goal for Lionel Messi, reaching 4 assists for the season, and combining with Messi for the 23rd time in Ligue 1 since the Argentine joined PSG, making them the most devastating duo in the league since the start of the 2021/22 season.
Mbappe reaches PSG milestone with goal against Lens
On a personal level, Mbappe reached 20 league goals for PSG in the fourth season since joining the Paris Giants, making him only the second player in Ligue 1 history to reach that tally in that many seasons since Pauleta did so between 2000 and 2006.
With his goal against Lens, Mbappe also reached 139 Ligue 1 goals for PSG, beating Edinson Cavani’s tally of 138 goals to become PSG’s top goalscorer of all time in the French first division.
Mbappe had already eclipsed Cavani’s overall tally for PSG this season after reaching 201 goals in all competitions earlier this season, but has now also beaten the Uruguayan’s record in just the Ligue 1 alone.
