Booma FC handed table leaders of the BetPawa Big League Police FC their first season defeat on Monday.

In a game played in Masindi on Monday, the hosts edged the visitors 2-1 thanks to a brace from Dickson Niwamanya, while Isaac Ogwang scored for the Cops.

Ogwang opened the scoring in the 27th minute before Booma came from a goal down to win it, with Niwamanya netting in the 40th and 65th minute, respectively.

Despite the loss, the Kavumba-based outfit maintained their lead at the top level on 13 points with Blacks Power FC.

The two sides also have a goal difference of five, but the Police have more goals, nine compared to the latter’s eight.

Meanwhile, victory lifted Booma six places from 12th to sixth, tied with Calvary FC, who have a better goal difference.

On match day seven, Booma will be on the road to visit Calvary, whereas Police will return to action on match day eight to host the same opponent.

It is worth noting that all the games played on match day six of the Big League on Sunday and Monday observed silence at the start to pay tribute to the fallen Ndejje University FC head Raymond Komakech.
