In the 21st minute of the game, Gabriel Martinelli was sent through on the left and he finished coolly into the far corner.
However, after a VAR review, the goal was ruled out for offside during the build-up and the first half ended in a draw.
The second half started and the Gunners continued from where they stopped in the first half with their possession-based football.
The first goal of the game later came in the 69th minute from a well-worked short corner. Arsenal finally unpicked the Everton defence with some quick, one-touch passing to tee up Leandro Trossard for a fine finish.
The game ended with a 1-0 win for Arsenal as they finally got their first win against Everton since Wenger’s reign.
