Ingwe were forced to come back from behind after conceding a second-minute goal but could not complete the comeback

AFC Leopards extended their winless run to six matches following a 1-1 draw with Bidco United in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match at Thika Stadium on Wednesday.

Ingwe were pegged back just after two minutes when David Orem completed a swift counterattacking move for Bidco. Orem curled in a brilliant strike in the top left corner that the Leopards goalkeeper Maxwell Muchesia could not keep out.

Bidco then took command of proceedings as they easily sliced open the Leopards defence but poor finishing let them down.

They would come to rue those misses later as the visitors upped the ante in the latter stages of the first half with Eugene Mukangula coming close with a header that hit the crossbar before they got the leveler.

Maxwell Otieno would then slot in from close range following pressure on the Bidco goal in the fifth minute of time added on, in what turned out to be the last kick of the half.

The second half, however, did not yield much as both teams slowed the tempo of the game although there were a couple of half chances for either side which they failed to capitalise on.

Leopards came close to snatching all points at the death but Bidco goalkeeper Edwin Mukolwe pulled off two acrobatic saves to keep the scores level.

The stalemate means Patrick Aussems’ men have picked just four points from a possible 18 which has seen them drop from fifth to ninth on the log over that period.

Leopards now have 39 points from 27 matches, same as Kakamega Homeboyz and Posta Rangers, while Bidco are 12th on 28 points, six ahead of Mathare United, who occupy the relegation playoff slot.

Aussems will, however, be encouraged by the fact that his scored in the second straight match, having gone four straight matches without finding the target.
