Gor Mahia's new signing Levin Odhiambo has revealed his targets after completing a long-anticipated move to the 20-time champions from rivals Tusker.

Levin 'Leftie' Odhiambo has revealed excitement at finally signing for Gor Mahia following months of negotiations.

Odhiambo had been in the midst of a transfer tussle since January, when Tusker reportedly demanded Ksh3 million for his services, something Gor Mahia could not agree to considering the marauding left-back only had two months left on the one-year deal he signed when he joined from Mathare United in March 2023.

He has joined K’Ogalo as a free agent, and was unveiled on Tuesday before taking part in his first training session with the club.

Expressing his satisfaction with the long-awaited transfer, Odhiambo told Pulse Sports,  “It is a good feeling for me because I had been talking to Gor Mahia for quite some time and finally it has happened even if it came late.

“We were patient with it but it has happened.”

Reflecting on his time with the Brewers, Odhiambo acknowledged the valuable lessons learned under the stewardship of head coach Robert Matano.

“The mentality at Tusker was to win trophies and even if we never managed to win anything, I learnt how to want to win," he added.

“There is also a lot of love and camaraderie at Tusker. I have now gained friends for life at the club, everyone from the players, to the technical bench and even the fans.”

Gor Mahia are currently top of the league table on 50 points after 24 games but have been on a sticky run of form that risks putting their title challenge in jeopardy, with Tusker and Bandari seven points away.

However, the Kamukunji High School alumnus has big targets.

“I want to get as much playing time as possible for the remaining matches and it will also be good if we won the league after those 10 matches to take home the medal," said Odhiambo.

“I will give my best and anytime I get a chance, I will do my thing.”

Despite the transition to a new club, Odhiambo expressed gratitude for the warm reception he received from his new teammates.

“Everyone has welcomed me well. I believe everyone knew of my impending signing so my first training session has also gone smoothly," said Odhiambo.

As Odhiambo embarks on his journey with Gor Mahia, fans eagerly anticipate his contributions on the pitch and his integration into the team.

With his determination, skill, and commitment to success, Odhiambo is poised to make a significant impact in the remaining matches of the season, aiming to propel Gor Mahia to new heights.
