The Brewers have started to gather winning momentum after a bad start to the season, and Odhiambo believes they can use it to win the title.

Tusker FC left-back Levin Odhiambo is optimistic that they can win the league title for the first time since 2021 after picking up momentum following a torrid start to the season.

The Brewers started the season rather indifferently and found themselves in the bottom half of the table by Gameweek 12, but have gathered a run of form having won each of their last three games, and now sit just nine points behind leaders Gor Mahia.

They have created a reputation for starting slowly and finishing strong in recent years, and that is starting to look like the case this season.

Wingback Odhiambo has revealed that the spirits in camp are higher than they have ever been before.

“We have good fighting spirit even in the camp, so before even the start of the match, everyone has the feeling that we are going to win,” said Odhiambo.

“So who are you not to have the same feeling with your teammates? so you just have to go in there even if you are not always starting and give your best.”

The former Wazito and Mathare United left-back has outlined the conditions they need in order to step closer to winning the league.

“First of all we’ve always made sure we try and score goals,” Odhiambo said.

“After that, we try and have the total maximum points for ourselves and it has been working well for us because everyone is giving their best.

“If you look at the table, we are not so much far behind and I believe it’s six points, seven points and nine points, which is a gap of three games, so if we continue having the same spirit, win games and focus on ourselves, I believe we are going to see a different number as the season goes by.”

Odhiambo hopes other teams ahead of them will fall off a cliff as they gather momentum and continue their surge up the table.

“I believe we will be back at the top again and win the title if the other teams are not going to give their best.

“If we continue what we are doing, who knows, we might still win the title because the race is still on, we still have a long second leg coming up. If we focus on ourselves, we are going to be at the top.”

Tusker will face KCB in their first clash of 2024 on Sunday 7 January.
