A lot of images of how the Super Eagles players were mistreated at the Libya airport have circulated online.

The Super Eagles team travelled to Libya for the second leg of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers after defeating them 1-0 in Uyo last week.

However, they were held hostage by the Libyan authorities at the airport, depriving them of getting to their destination.

The Super Eagles team have been at the airport for more than 15 hours without any plans to get transportation for the team.

The Nigerian contingent, originally scheduled to go to Benghazi, was rerouted to Al Abaq, two hours away.

Images were shared on X by Ojora Babatunde, who said this is how the Super Eagles of Nigeria spent their night in Libya.

Most of the players slept in uncomfortable areas in the airport, with some officials trying to fit themselves on the chairs.
