Former Vipers SC and Express FC defender Joseph Dhata has written history becoming the first player to score a UPL goal for newbies NEC FC as they grabbed maximum points over Mbarara City FC.

BUL FC are off to a winning start over Bright Stars FC thanks to Lawrence Tezikya's stunning strike in the first half.

Two positions separated `BUL FC and Bright Stars FC on the 15-team SUPL log last season, as the Oil Manufacturers finished 7th, the Stars were placed 9th. 

NEC FC head coach Hussein Mbalangu will be returning to Mbarara hoping to inflict pain on his former paymasters Mbarara City FC.

As they both gained promotion to the UPL, Mbarara City FC and NEC FC finished second and third, respectively on the 16-team FUFA Big League log. 

The battle between Mbarara City FC and NEC FC at Kakyeka Stadium will see two newly promoted sides locking horns with the former back in the UPL immediately given that they were relegated in the 2021/22 campaign while the latter is chilling with the big boys for the first time. 

Uganda Cranes youngster Travis Mutyaba is once again the player to watch at SC Villa this season whilst Dennis Omedi who was the leading goal scorer in the FUFA Big League is  back at Kitara FC hoping to stump his mark in the UPL.

SC Villa nearly ended their 19-year UPL drought last season but lost the title on the final day of the season whereas Kitara FC are bouncing back into the top flight following their relegation in the 2020/21 campaign.
