Liverpool defender Andy Robertson will be out until 2024 due to recent a shoulder injury sustained while representing his country.

The left-back clashed with the opponent's goalkeeper Unai Simon during Scotland's 2-0 loss to Spain last week during their Euro 2024 qualifying match, leaving him in excruciating pain.

During the game, Steve Clarke had to replace the 29-year-old with Robertson holding his arm in his shirt.

It has now been confirmed that Robertson will be sidelined for three months with a shoulder injury.

According to the Daily Star, Robertson is scheduled to have surgery on his right shoulder, which will keep him out of action for about three months.

Without surgery, the Scotsman could have made a comeback in four weeks, however, Liverpool decided to have the issue surgically fixed instead, reducing the likelihood that it would happen again.

During the Friday afternoon press conference prior to the Everton game, Klopp said, "I think we go towards surgery.

"There is a little chance we could try without but talking to pretty much all experts it looks like surgery will be the best thing, particularly in the long term and that means he is out for a while.

"In my experience, you can train pretty quickly again but not football-specific so he will be out for a while."

Liverpool will be without the Scottish defender till next year and will be replaced by Timikas for their clash against Everton.
