Lobi Stars have opened up a four point lead at the top of table in Group B after a routine win on Sunday.
Lobi defeated Doma United 2-0 during their week nine encounter at the New Jos Stadium.
Joseph Atule and Abba Umar were the heroes of ten day for the Benin side as they made it a swift return to winning ways in the NPFL.
The game in brief
The home side went into the game against the newly promoted side looking to bounce back to winning ways after the last time.
Wikki Tourist ended Lobi’s a run of six games without a defeat and they welcomed Doma looking to make amends.
Lobi made their intentions known very early when Atule fired them ahead in the seventh minute with his fourth goal of the season.
1-0 became two as Abba Umar doubled Lobi’s advantage two minutes later.
Lobi could have added more goals but both sides went into the break with the host comfortably ahead.
The second half produced no further goals despite the Pride of Benue asking more questions of their visitors.
What the result means
Following be win over Doma, Lobi Stars have now extended their lead at the top of the table in Group B to four points.
Despite the loss, United remain sixth with 12 points from nine matches this season.
