Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo might have to consider delegating freekick duties, as he currently has a shockingly low conversion rate in recent times and throughout his career in international competitions.
20 years after his first European Championship on home soil, Cristiano Ronaldo, now captaining Portugal, leads the line for the Selecao in Germany.
The 39-year-old is the all-time top scorer in international football and is coming off the back of a remarkable goal-scoring season in Saudi Arabia; however, he has struggled in front of goal this tournament and even worse from free kicks.

Ronaldo's shambolic record
Long away from his prime, in which he racked up goals from free kicks, enough to make him the 7th top scorer via that method in history (63), Ronaldo's conversion rate has tragically waned.
Of Ronaldo's 63 free-kick goals, 52 have come playing for the various clubs he has represented throughout his career, while 11 have come wearing the typically red jersey of Portugal.
However, only one of those 11 has come in international tournaments, the stunning strike to beat his future teammate David de Gea in the thrilling 3-3 draw at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
As of the time of writing, Ronaldo has attempted 59 free kicks for Portugal in international competitions; scoring only one means he has a conversion rate of 1.69%, according to MVR.
However, Ronaldo's last free kick goal came for Portugal in the Euro qualifier, a 4-0 thrashing of Liechtenstein. He has scored only three free kicks for club and country in the last four years.
