The Uganda Sand Cranes captain, who penned a one-year renewable contract with the Purple Sharks, has expressed his readiness to turn out for the Wakiso-based side, asserting that he is ready to give everything for the shirt.

New Wakiso Giants FC signing Baker Lukooya can be quite a character, always expressing himself the same way he does on the pitch.

The Uganda Sand Cranes captain, who penned a one-year renewable contract with the Purple Sharks, has expressed his readiness to turn out for the Wakiso-based side, asserting that he is ready to give everything for the shirt.

“I am just a simple guy ready to swim in a sea of sharks,” Lukooya tweeted on his official handle.

Lukoya who has previously featured for sides like Soltilo Bright Stars and AFC Leopards and became Wakiso Giants’ fifth-season signing, joining Mohammed Ssenoga, Mulumba Blancha, Samson Kigozi and Mark Nsubuga.

John Ayala Luyinda’s charges struggled in the second round of the previous campaign after they lost several mainstays in the team.

Ibrahim Owen Baba Kasule and Frank Ssebuufu joined Ibrahimn Sekagya’s New York Red Bulls II, while Grant Masiko (joined Vipers), Moses Aliro and Shariph Kimbowa (both now at URA FC) are some of the departures from the Purple Sharks.

Having been eliminated from the FUFA Super Eight by KCCA FC in the quarter-finals, Wakiso Giants will now turn their focus to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League as they hope to finish better than 8th last season.

They open up against Maroons FC on 17th September, with the league underway two days earlier.
