Ugandan midfielder Taddeo Lwanga has successfully completed his medical examinations ahead of his move to Rwanda Premier League side APR.

The midfield maestro traveled to Rwanda’s capital Kigali at the start of the week to discuss personal terms with the club, securing a two-year contract that is said to align with his ambitions on the pitch.
With the completion of his medical, the midfielder is expected to finalize the formalities next week, marking the official beginning of his journey with the Rwandan giants.
Lwanga's arrival at APR comes as a significant boost for the team as they gear up for pre-season ahead of a season where they will attempt to reach the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

However, it seems that the allure of joining the Rwandan champions was simply too compelling for the midfielder to resist.

APR FC will sign foreign players for the first time in ten years, with the Rwanda army side adopting a 100% nationalistic approach to its team recruitment in 2012, restricting to field only Rwandan citizens.
Lwanga’s arrival is expected to be followed by the acquisition of DRC national Pavelh Ndzila, Etiole de Congo goalkeeper and Cameroonian defender Ngweni Denis Ndasi.
APR has reportedly also contacted Vipers SC to inquire about the availability of their captain, Milton Karisa, who was crowned the StarTimes Uganda Premier League best player at the league awards on Thursday.
The holding midfielder joins APR as a free agent after his contract with Djibouti side Arta Solar was mutually terminated in January, with 18 months to run after several breaches by the club.
Despite not being active for the last six months, Lwanga remained a top target especially after his stint with Tanzania’s Simba SC which he helped to a domestic double in 2021.
It was Lwanga's crucial goal in the 2021 Tanzania FA Cup final, held in Kigoma, that further cemented his status as a player of immense potential and match-winning capabilities.
His performance at the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt earned him a move to Tanta FC, where he made 11 appearances before leaving for Simba.
