AFCON 2027 Magogo, CAF exco to discuss Pamoja AFCON 2027 Bid in Morocco

Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania submitted a joint bid to host the 2027 edition alongside Algeria, Egypt and Botswana.

The CAF executive committee will discuss the bidding process for the East Africa Pamoja bid on Friday 7th, July in Rabat, Morocco.

The continental body announced that the second-most powerful organ will sit on Friday ahead of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations final, to be played on Saturday in Rabat.

Among the issues to be discussed include the bidding process for the 2025 and 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

“The meeting will deliberate on a number of matters, including the ongoing bidding process of TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025 and CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027,” the statement from CAF reads.

“The Executive Committee will also discuss the upcoming 45th CAF Ordinary General Assembly (“OGA”) that will be hosted in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on 13 July 2023,” the message adds.

The meeting, chaired by CAF President Patrice Motsepe, will be held as the CAF concludes the inspection visits, which were scheduled for June 1st up to July 15th.

Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania submitted a joint bid to host the 2027 edition alongside Algeria, Egypt and Botswana.

Algeria also bid to host the 2025 edition and will be competing against Morocco, Zambia and a joint bid between Nigeria and Benin.

The exco was slated to make its final decision on August 15th.
