FUFA president Moses Magogo has said that limited resources is the major hindrance in achieving equal pay for men and women in football.
Magogo was reacting on FIFA president Gianni Infantino's move to push for equality in the game. Infantino said that world body is "embarking on a historic journey for women's football and for equality".
Infatino was speaking during after his reelection at the 73rd FIFA General Assembly on Thursday in Rwanda.
"We need all to be on the same side FIFA will do its part. We've started already. We need others to do the same," he added.
Magogo, who also owns Kampala Queens in the FUFA Women Super League, welcomed the move but says resources will largely dictate the cause.
"The most important factor is having the resources," Magogo told media.
"We must notice that the men's football makes more than the women's so, you cannot invest for equality and yet you're suffocating generating more revenue(sic). There should be a good balance," he advices.
FIFA did not only a word of mouth but went ahead to increase the Women's World Cup money threefold from $30 million awarded in France 2019 to $110 million in the Australia and New Zealand finals this year.
Magogo tipped that the federation could act and pay the Crested Cranes the same as their male counterparts Uganda Cranes.
"For the senior team, I'd believe it should be the same but it's subject to availability of resources," he added.
