The Three Lions came from behind to score thrice at a packed Wembley as they handed Luciano Spalletti's side his first defeat as Azzuri manager.

How it happened

Italy started well and even took the lead as early as the 15th minute, thanks to a Gianluca Scamacca strike. The Atalanta forward was well positioned to fire in from close range after a cross from wide evaded bodies to reach its destination far post.

Gareth Southgate's men rallied themselves after going behind, and in the 32nd minute, they were handed a way back into the game after the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty.

A rash tackle from Napoli's Di Lorenzo on Jude Bellingham led to the call; Harry Kane stepped up to take the spot kick and made no mistake dispatching his attempt.

Marcus Rashford gave England the lead for the first time in the game after a brilliant run from Bellingham. The Real Madrid star set Rashford up, and with still so much to do, the Manchester United star drove into the box before burying the ball into the bottom right corner.

Harry Kane grabbed a brace in the 77th minute to add more comfort to the scoreline for England. The Three Lions maintained the result and, hence, booked their place in next year's European Championships in Germany.
