Tuesday night’s goalless draw against ten-man Cape Town City FC at Loftus Versfeld meant Masandawana’s ten-home game winning streak in the league had ended.

They might be champions-elect, but Denis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns are sometimes tested to the limit, as was the case on matchday 24 of the DSTV Premiership.

Tuesday night’s goalless draw against ten-man Cape Town City FC at Loftus Versfeld meant Masandawana’s ten-home game winning streak in the league had ended.

Cameroonian Fidel Ambina received his marching orders in the 74th minute, but Rhulani Mokwena’s charges still failed to break the visitors, settling for a point.

Mamelodi Sundowns were declared champions last weekend while in continental action, the point takes the Brazilians to 60 points, a massive 20 points ahead of Orlando Pirates, Supersport United and Kaizer Chiefs.

The trio are all on 40 points, respectively, after 24 games played.

Sundowns have been ruthless this season, scoring the most goals (45) and conceding the least goals (nine) with only two draws and three draws in the 24 games played.
