Reports had indicated last month that the 36-year-old was holding talks with the club to renew his contract with his agent Steve Kapelushnick at one point publicly saying he was receiving several offers from local suitors, including Tanzania and North Africa.

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rhulani Mokwena is not worried one bit about his future at Choorlkop.

Reports had indicated last month that the 36-year-old was holding talks with the club to renew his contract with his agent Steve Kapelushnick at one point publicly saying he was receiving several offers from local suitors, including Tanzania and North Africa.

However, Mokwena says he is sure everything will be resolved between the two sides, insisting he is falling in love with the team each time.

“The club will make an announcement,” Mokwena who has won three league titles with Sundowns said.

“I love this club, I am falling in love with it every single day, and I get incredible support from the club, the chairman, the Motsepe family, and the board.”

“And there is a very good relationship with the players; what more can a coach ask for?” he added.

In October 2022, Mamelodi Sundowns decided to disband the co-coaching arrangement between Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi after their elimination from the MTN8 by eventual champions Orlando Pirates.

Mokwena then went on to register 21 wins, ten draws and a single defeat in 32 games in charge as the head coach.

However, he was unable to guide the Brazilians to their first CAF Champions League final since 2016.

Masandwana were eliminated in the semifinals by Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca on the away goals rule after a 2-2 draw in Pretoria, having played out a goalless draw in the first leg.

The former Orlando Pirates and Chippa United tactician has a year left on his current contract.
