Liverpool were bamboozled by Man City in the second half at the Etihad Stadium as the Reds fell to another defeat in the EPL on Saturday.

The defending champions were hoping to pile pressure on league leaders Arsenal with a result on Saturday but were going to do so without their prolific striker Erling Haaland who was ruled out of the contest due to injury.
City began the contest looking the better side and dominating possession as expected.
However, they soon found themselves trailing after Mohamed Salah fired past Ederson in the 17th minute to put the visitors 1-0 up.
City responded really well, creating tons of chances but seemed to be missing the finishing touch of their Norwegian on the afternoon.
Liverpool found joy on the counter on several occasions and came close to doubling their advantage in the 26th minute.
However, City’s dominance soon paid off after Julian Alvarez tapped home from Jack Grealish’s low cross to level matters for the hosts.
Alvarez’s strike prove to be the last real action of the opening half as both teams headed into the break with one goal apiece.
Second Half: Man City build on first-half dominance against Liverpool as Reds slump to defeat
The second half kicked off with instant action as Man City completed the comeback after Kevin de Bruyne found the back of the net a minute after the restart to give City the lead for the first time in the game.
City found their groove and gained more momentum and the hosts soon found themselves celebrating again after Ilkay Gundogan found the back of the net in the 53rd minute to put the hosts 3-1 clear.
Liverpool looked mentally drained halfway into the second period and soon conceded a fourth after Jack Grealish who had looked lively all afternoon fired home in the 74th minute from a Kevin de Bruyne cross to certainly put the game beyond their rivals.
In the end, Manchester City recorded a deserved 4-1 win against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool who were dealt another blow in their pursuit of Champions League football.
Meanwhile, the win for Man City puts them five points behind league leaders Arsenal who face Leeds United later in the afternoon.
