Arsenal are reportedly close to agreeing a club record fee with West Ham to sign the Hammers captain Declan Rice.
After weeks of negotiations, Arsenal are finally close to agreeing a deal to sign Declan Rice from West Ham and could pay as much as £100m if add-ons are achieved.
Arsenal close to Rice deal
According to the Guardian, a bid has not been submitted but the Gunners will make one imminently with the player now minded to pick the Emirates as his next destination.
West Ham have accepted they are going to lose Rice and Arsenal are ready to make him the most expensive player in the club's history, eclipsing the £72m they paid for Nicolas Pepe.
Mikel Arteta identified Rice as the perfect addition to his Arsenal midfield, even more so with the impending departure of Granit Xhaka. The West Ham captain can play as a lone defensive midfielder and even in a two-man midfield, where he could feature alongside Thomas Partey.
Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Newcastle have all shown interest in Rice but Arsenal have always been in pole position d are now expected to complete a deal for the England international.
