Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed he will do things differently ahead of the Champions League decider against Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola is seeking his first Champions League trophy as Manchester City boss and according to critics, he has been the architect of his own failures.
While that sentiment holds very little water, the decision to play without a specialist holding midfielder in the 2021 Champions League final defeat to Chelsea as well as a somewhat unnecessary switch to a three-man defence in a quarter-final defeat to Lyon the previous year were decisions that received widespread criticism.
Guardiola not overthinking against Real Madrid
Asked about his plans ahead of Wednesday’s crucial second leg against Carlo Ancelotti’s side at the Etihad, he told reporters: “I’m not overthinking tomorrow, don’t worry guys.
“It’s nothing special. Nothing different from what we have done in the past.
“We know how important it is tomorrow is, maybe one of the most important ones. We can’t deny that, but I said to the players, enjoy the moment and how fortunate we are, how incredibly lucky we are to be here. We’ll do everything, give everything.”
