Alex Iwobi and Fulham did not do enough on the latest visit to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the Premier League.
Nigeria and Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi endured a not-so-impressive start to the new season after a painful defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League opener.
Iwobi featured from start to finish alongside his compatriot Calvin Bassey in the 1-0 defeat to the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Friday night.

Iwobi and his Fulham teammates came into the game confident of taking kicking off the new Premier League in style after their last visit to Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old produced a match-winning display alongside his friend and national teammate, Bassey, as the Cottagers left Manchester with all three points following a shock 2-1 victory over.
Buoyed by the historic outing in late February earlier this year, Iwobi and Fulham were hoping to repeat the same feat in a bid to have the perfect start to the 2024/25 campaign.
However, despite a positive preparation that saw him and his Super Eagles mate Bassey take centre stage leading to the encounter, it was another player with Nigerian blood, Joshua Zirkzee, who ruined the party for the former Arsenal and Everton star.
On the occasion of his debut, Dutch-born Nigerian Zirkzee came off the pitch to score an exquisite low volley to give a dominant Manchester United a late win and all three points.
Iwobi reacts to Man United's defeat
Following the defeat, the Nigerian playmaker has broken his silence as he takes positives from the game at Old Trafford.
“Plenty of positives to take,” Iwobi posted across his social media accounts moments after the game.
In terms of his performance, Iwobi failed to create a single chance or make a key pass, completed just 72% of his passes and didn’t get a single effort on target.
Up next, Iwobi will be hoping to improve on that disappointing opener when another compatriot Wilfred Ndidi and Premier League new boys Leicester City visit Craven Cottage next Saturday.
