Manchester United eye Thomas Tuchel as Ten Hag's replacement
Manchester United reportedly want to capitalise on Thomas Tuchel's exit from Bayern Munich, as they view him as an eligible replacement for Erik Ten Hag.
Mourinho also commented on his professional relationship with former CEO Ed Woodward, suggesting it could have been better.
Professional Profile Criticism
Mourinho criticised the professional standards of some players at Manchester United, stating, "I think they represent a little bit of what I consider not the best professional profile to a club of a certain dimension."
However, he also acknowledged that he did his job at the club and expressed his desire for Manchester United to succeed. While Mourinho did not specify the names of the players he was referring to, several members of his squad from his final season at Old Trafford are still part of the team under current manager Erik ten Hag.
Mourinho's relationship with Luke Shaw has been particularly tumultuous, dating back to 2015 when he took over as United boss while Shaw was sidelined with a double leg break.
Mourinho criticised Shaw's performance upon his return to the pitch, and their relationship remained strained with further criticisms about Shaw's fitness and performance.
Despite the ups and downs, Mourinho enjoyed success during his tenure at Manchester United, winning the Europa League and the EFL Cup in the 2016-17 season.
