Brazilian icon Ronaldo has ruled out the prospect of ever becoming a manager, insisting the idea of coaching 'kills' him.
The legendary striker, who lifted two Ballon d'Or awards and the World Cup during his illustrious playing career, has no desire to swap the pitch for the dugout.

Ronaldo on being a coach
The 47-year-old suffered from a series of devastating injuries throughout his career but scored an incredible 352 goals in 518 matches across all competitions.
But despite a deep love for football, the man referred to as the ‘Original Ronaldo’ is not a fan of the dugout.

“Managing never attracted me, no, no: zero, zero, zero. I love football but the idea of being a coach kills me, always killed me,” Ronaldo boldly claimed in this Guardian report.
He went on to explain his reasoning, taking a scathing swipe at the players he would have to manage.

“A player does what he has to, goes home, that's it. A coach has 25 guys – young, bastards, sons of bitches – all wanting to screw you. Unthinkable. Never,” he added.
Despite his disdain for the idea of coaching, Ronaldo did express admiration for those who do take on the role.

“But I admire them, their love for football. I love football but couldn't put up with that; they were born for it,” he concluded.
Ronaldo's comments will come as a surprise to many, given his legendary status in the game.

The Brazilian is widely regarded as one of the greatest strikers of all time after a distinguished career for some of the biggest clubs in the world including Spanish rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona.
He also played a pivotal role in Brazil's 2002 World Cup triumph, scoring eight goals on their way to glory.
However, it seems the former Inter Milan and Barcelona star has no desire to step into management himself preferring to other things to the game that gave him fame.
