Aymeric Laporte has recently mocked Arsenal after they lost to Brighton at the Emirates, handing the title advantage to Pep Guardiola's side.

The Gunners were still in the title race before facing Brighton but stumbled to a 3-0 defeat after conceding three goals in the second half.

Goals from Julio Enciso, Deniz Undez and Pervis Estupiñán ended Arsenal’s title hopes and gave City the advantage with two games to go.

The City centre-back posted a gif on his Twitter account mocking Arsenal's loss to the Seagulls with Man City getting closer to the league title.

The Spanish player was happy to see Arsenal lose to Brighton and expressed his joy by posting a gif on his Twitter account.

Manchester City won their game against Everton 3-0 earlier in the day and awaited Arsenal’s result against Brighton.

Immediately after the final whistle at the Emirates, Laporte took to his social media and tweeted a Dwayne Johnson gif on Twitter with the phrase "Mmmmmmm I can almost smell it."

His tweet explains how close City are to winning the Premier League for the fifth time in the last six years.

Arsenal falter in title race

The Gunners can hardly be upset with the outcome on their own turf since they were outplayed by the Seagulls for the duration of the encounter at the Emirates.

Julio Enciso opened the scoring for the away side after he was left unmarked inside the six-yard box to head the ball past the helpless Aaron Ramsdale.

The Brighton forward had the time and space to score the first goal after a replay showed that Gunners defender Jakub Kiwior had collapsed holding his ankle.

As a result of their inability to respond after being behind, the Gunners were two goals down just before the end of the second half when Deniz Undav lobbed Ramsdale, setting off raucous celebrations in the Emirates' away end.

Deep into stoppage time of the second half, Pervis Estupinan scored his third and final goal to put an end to the game, by which time many of the home supporters had already left the stadium.
