The England international has revealed that he holds a special affinity for Kenya. He has officially joined the Hammers on a loan deal until the end of the season, halting his forgettable 18-month stint at the Etihad Stadium after completing a £45 million ,move from Leeds.
When asked about his favorite holiday destination, Phillips promptly replied, "Kenya."

Now donning the number 11 shirt for West Ham, Phillips expressed his excitement about claiming this number for the first time in his career.
His previous shirt numbers included 40 at Leeds, 27, and later 23 for five seasons. However, the number 23 was unavailable at Manchester City, having been retired in 2003 out of respect for the late Marc-Vivien Foe, a former City star who tragically passed away after collapsing on the pitch.
