Manchester City could go down the same route as Juventus
Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City have been charged with multiple violations of the league's laws concerning financial rules after concluding an investigation that has gone on for four years.
Should they be found guilty of these charges, they could face hefty sanctions, which could include points deductions this season that will surely put an end to their quest for a third consecutive league title and even put their place in Europe next season in jeopardy.
The charges stem from Manchester City's dealings in the Premier League from 2009/2010 until the 2022/23 season,
Several serious charges brought against Manchester City
The charges include Manchester City's failure to fully disclose revenue, especially from financial sponsorships between 2009 and 2018.
The Premier League has also accused Manchester City of failing to disclose the total payments made to their manager between 2009 and 2013, during the reign of Italian coach Roberto Mancini, which is a breach of established financial rules.

Other charges include Manchester City violating the Premier League's rules on their member clubs abiding by UEFA's club licencing and Financial Fairplay regulation, as well as the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules between 2015 and 2018.
Charges that Manchester City face for activity after 2018 all centre around the club's failure to assist the Premier League in investigating the club by failing to provide documents and information to the Premier League in the utmost good faith.
According to the statement released by the Premier League, Manchester City's trial will be heard by a commission that will be independent of the establishment as well as its member clubs, and will be heard in private.
