Red-hot forward Haaland is focused on scoring even more goals despite crossing the 40-goal mark for Manchester City this season.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has revealed that he has not set any targets for goals this season after his latest goal rush.
Haaland scored his second hat-trick in as many matches as Manchester City demolished Championship leaders Burnley 6-0 in the FA Cup semifinal on Saturday.
It was a difficult and sad homecoming for Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany as Haaland scored another hat-trick for City four days apart.
The 22-year-old, four days ago, scored goals to help Manchester City ease into the quarterfinal of the Champions League following a remarkable 7-0 win at the Etihad.
Haaland wants more goals for City
With his performance against the Clarets on Saturday, Haaland netted his sixth hat-trick of the season for Manchester City.
The goals took his tally for the season to 43 goals in all competitions, with the City forward becoming the sixth Premier League star to hit the 40-goals-plus mark in a season.
However, despite his incredible numbers this season, Haaland is not looking to stop any time soon as he wants to score more goals for Manchester City.
“I have not set a target [of goals] this season,” Haaland said according to Fotmob.
“As a striker, I love to score goals, but my focus is not on scoring goals, it's getting the chances.”
Is Erling Haaland amongst the richest footballers in the world?
“If you get the chances, there's a chance to score, so that's what I try to focus on."
Haaland on his season so far
Speaking further on his form, the Norwegian superstar, who equalled a record set by Cristiano Ronaldo, added that he is happy with his form but believes Manchester City must be at their best and perform at this stage of the season.
All you need to know about Haaland's incredible numbers this season
“It's been a good couple of games, with important goals and 7-0 and 6-0 wins before the international break – it's impressive and I'm really happy," he added.
“Every goal means a lot to me, every goal for the team means a lot. To win 6-0 is an amazing thing against a really good Burnley side. I'm really happy and now the next game is at Wembley.”
"We are in the part of the season where we should be at our best. Of course, we should be at our best all the time, but now it's where things get decided.”
How football fans reacted to Erling Haaland's latest goal rush.
“We have to perform. The last couple of games have been finals, and that's exactly what we are doing.”
