Premier League giants Manchester United continue to make moves in the transfer market and are on the verge of signing Sergio Reguilon who completed his medicals ahead of a loan move

Manchester United’s bid to sign Tottenham defender Sergio Reguillon on loan before the end of the summer transfer window is gaining steam after the Spain international reportedly completed a medical to join the Red Devils.

Manchester United desperate for left-back signing

The Red Devils’ season was thrown into turmoil after first and second-choice left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both suffered serious injuries with the season just starting, and they have been on the hunt for a backup in the transfer market.

They sounded out Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella but have now gone for Tottenham’s Reguillon after the Blues’ defender became cup-tied following his appearance in the EFL Cup second round.

The Red Devils intend to take Reguilon on a season-long loan, and the former Real Madrid defender will be keen to escape Tottenham after failing to make the grade in North London.

Reguilon completes Manchester United medical

Reguillon started out well at Tottenham after joining from Real Madrid in 2020, but his performances for the club dipped, culminating in his joining Atletico Madrid on loan for the 2022/23 season.

After returning from loan to embark on his penultimate season with Tottenham, Reguilon finds himself low in the pecking order of Spurs left-backs, with Destiny Udogie and Ryan Sessegnon ahead of him, making the prospect of a move to Manchester United mouthwatering.

According to the Daily Mail, Reugilon has completed his medical ahead of the move, and will be announced as a Manchester United player imminently.
