De Gea nears Fiorentina agreement

After being out of action for a year and failing to secure a contract with any club during the last two transfer windows, De Gea is finally set to return between the sticks.

Despite attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, De Gea remained without a team throughout the previous season, but recent reports indicate that the Spanish goalkeeper is nearing an agreement with Serie A side Fiorentina after weeks of negotiations.

After missing out on a move to Genoa this summer apparently due to his salary demands, the Spanish goalkeeper will reportedly seal the move to another Serie A side, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
