Manchester United icon Edwin van der Sar has opened up on the brain hemorrhage he suffered in 2023.
The former Netherlands international was rushed to intensive care in July after suffering bleeding around the brain.
The 53-year-old had been holidaying in Croatia when the terrifying incident occurred. The incident occurred just a month after he stepped down as chief executive of Eredivisie giants Ajax.
Fortunately, he was discharged two weeks after being admitted to the hospital. With the hemorrhage deemed non-life-threatening, he has since gone on to make a full recovery.

And he has now opened up for the first time over his traumatic experience.
“My health is doing well, I didn’t get much damage from it, I think," Van Der Sar told De Telegraaf
“But I have never spent a day in the office from 9am to 5pm. But no, I’m fine.”

Van der Sar spent six years at United between 2005 and 2011 following a bargain £2million move from Fulham.
He played 266 times as the Red Devils won four Premier League titles, the Champions League and the Club World Cup.
Before Fulham, Van der Sar spent two years at Juventus.
But it was his time at first club Ajax where he made his name, winning four Dutch titles while also being part of the famous young side that won the 1995 Champions League final against defending champions AC Milan.
