The 27-year-old tops the list of goalkeepers the Red Devils are pursuing in the transfer window.
Manchester United are still pressing hard to sign Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan.
Onana has been on the radar of United for some time, and the club is looking to make a decisive push. Irrespective of David de Gea's future, United are hoping to sign a new goalkeeper, with Onana topping their wishlist.
De Gea is also out of contract, and this makes United's wish for a new shot-stopper even more of a priority.

Despite a spirited campaign that saw them fight on two fronts until the end, the club finished the season without a trophy.
The Red Devils had started talks with De Gea to extend his contract, and while the negotiations were progressing well, the club withdrew the offer and didn’t counter-sign it.
There is no agreement yet between the two parties with time running out, and that means De Gea is technically out of contract and can join any club of his choice as a free agent.
That means United are in serious pursuit of signing a new goalkeeper, and apart from Onana, Justin Bijlow is another player they have set their eyes on.
Bijlow remains their target, but their priority is signing Onana, a former Ajax custodian. They were set to meet with Inter Milan general manager Piero Ausilio, but because of Marcelo Brozovic’s indecision over a move to Saudi Arabia, the meeting couldn’t take place.
