FOOTBALL ‘RIP Manchester United’ - Fans slam Glazer family after Qatari billionaire Sheikh Jassim pulls out of race to buy Red Devils
Manchester United supporters have voiced their displeasure at the Glazer family after frustrating efforts by Qatari billionaire Sheikh Jassim for complete control of the Premier League club
However, Sheikh Jassim’s bid proposition was rejected again by Glazer family and as a result, he informed the club owners that he’s ready to withdraw from the process on Saturday, leaving British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe as the sole bidder.
That decision means the Qatari’s ambitious plans for the Red Devils fell through and they included signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Mbappe, as reported by British outlet The Sun.
The Frenchman’s current contract with PSG is set to expire at the end of the season and he already informed the club that he will not be signing a new one with Real Madrid considered his next destination.
However, Sheikh Jassim was still hoping to use his financial muscle to lure Mbappe away from Madrid and to Old Trafford with the report also claiming that Los Blancos midfielder Eduardo Camavinga and Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman were on the billionaire’s transfer shortlist.
With that now water under the bridge, Ratcliffe is in line to buy 25 per cent of Manchester United in the next days and the board will vote on 25 per cent stake bid in the coming days.
The billionaire will reportedly be handed sporting control and future major ownership after initial 25 per cent, a stance United fans are against, since they feel the club needs an immediate overhaul with the Glazers also unwanted by the supporters.
