The goalkeeper completed a summer transfer move to Old Trafford after an impressive run with Inter Milan.
Graeme Souness has questioned whether Andre Onana is an upgrade of David De Gea at Manchester United and warned that the goalkeeper can cause heart attacks.
The Cameroonian was signed in a £47.2 million deal from Inter Milan after De Gea ended his 12-year spell in the Premier League. The 27-year-old signed a five-year deal with the Red Devils as he reunites with his former manager, Erik ten Hag.
Last season, De Ge committed glaring mistakes but broke the record for the most clean sheets for Manchester United, as he made 545 appearances for the club and won the Player of the Year award four times.

Thomas Partey: Mikel Arteta says Arsenal midfielder will remain with the club amid transfer speculation
Midfielder Thomas Partey's future at the Premier League club is uncertain, but Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he expects him to stay.
"In terms of pure goalkeeping and using your hands, let’s see if Onana is an upgrade on De Gea – I’m not sure," Souness said.
"David de Gea, in his first four or five seasons at Manchester United, won the Player of the Year. In recent years, he’s not been as good, and like all goalkeepers, he’s had some howlers. He’s not top-notch with his feet either, and obviously, Erik ten Hag wants someone who is."

Samuel Eto’o: Barcelona legend accused of trying to ruin career of Manchester United star
Cameroonian legend and former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o has faced a ton of allegations in recent weeks and has now been accused of sabotaging a player's career.
Souness debated Onana's strengths and weaknesses as the former Ajax goalkeeper started a new career in the Premier League.
"Andre Onana is a guy who will give coaches several heart attacks when he’s got the ball at his feet. He’s extremely casual when people are closing him down," he continued.
"He is a good kicker of the ball, he can really ping it. It’s an important part of the game because coming out to play and being that good on the ball gives you another player outside the box.
"It’s as good as that. But he will make mistakes because occasionally you’ll end up making a mistake with a passing mix-up in a very dangerous area."
