The 20-year-old Ivorian playmaker has been superb since he joined the Black Cats on a season-long loan from Premier League side Manchester United.

Manchester United and Ivory Coast youngster Amad Diallo has been named the EFL Young and PFA Fans' Player of the month for December.

The youngster, who has impressed at Sunderland following his season-long loan move from Manchester United. received the award on Friday evening. d, 20, was awarded for his excellent display in the colours of the Black Cats after he scored three goals in five appearances in December.

His brilliant performance for the promotion-chasing club has not gone unnoticed with his three goals in December taking his tally to seven goals and two assists in the Championship this campaign.

Amad dedicates award to his teammates

The talented youngster received his award earlier this evening and has reacted by dedicating his latest accolade to his team.

A happy Amad took to is official social media page to express his happiness while dedicating his double awards to his team.

"I’m happy to win EFL young of the month and PFA Fans’ player of the month. credit goes to the whole team," the youngster posted on Twitter.

Amad's journey at Sunderland

Having arrived from Premier League giants Manchester United on loan, it was expected that the youngster would hit the ground running at the championship side.

However, it took a while for him to find his feet at the Black Cats having warmed the bench at the club for most parts of the first half of the season.

Since the start of the second half, the young playmaker has totally transformed into a different player which has impressed his coach at the club, Tony Mowbray.

Amad scored three goals in five matches in December.

“His performance level has been extremely high,” Mowbray said per EFL. “He went through a purple patch scoring almost every game, but he is always a threat to the opposition.

“Defenders hang out a leg and he dances past them. He has scored a few goals from outside the box and he links well with the other strikers.”

Amad Diallo is on loan from Manchester United.

The Black Cats sit ninth place in the Sky Bet Championship standings and will be looking up to Diallo to help them break into the playoffs.
