The call for the return of Mason Greenwood to Manchester United has intensified following recent development around the talented youngster.
Manchester United fans have intensified their calls for the return of wonderkid Mason Greenwood to the team.
Greenwood has been out of action for 17 months following suspension by the Red Devils for domestic abuse.
The 21-year-old has halted his hitherto burgeoning career for over a year as he faced accusations of rape and assault from his girlfriend, Harriet Robson.
Greenwood released
Following his arrested and subsequent persecution by the Police department, Greenwood was suspended by United pending the outcome of the case.
However, the charges were later dropped by the Crown Persecution Service and the young forward regained his freedom.
But he remained suspended by the English giants who launched an internal investigation into his ordeal.
“The initial signals from Adidas are positive. Without their blessing, it would be hard to see a way back,” the report noted.
“But they have communicated his return would not necessarily be an insurmountable obstacle.
“They have certainly given the impression they would not be fiercely opposed to it.”
Update on Greenwood
On Saturday, a report from The Sun stated that the forward could be on his way back after meeting with one of United’s main sponsors.
The report noted that German kit makers, Adidas, could have paved the way for Greenwood’s return after a positive meeting between the youngster and Adidas.
United are expected to decide Greenwood’s face in the coming weeks as they weigh in on the severe case of rape and assault.
While he awaits a resolution, Greenwood, spotted earlier this week in Manchester with his girlfriend, who has since birthed a baby, has returned to training with some personal sessions.
The 21-year-old has also seen his training regime overseen by United staff, with the forward speaking to manager Erik Ten Hag on more than one occasion.
Fans demand return
With the report of Adidas open to the idea of Greenwood making it back to the team, United fans have reacted with higher intensity.
The Red Devils have taken to social media to make their voice heard again.
