Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has confirmed he will no longer be captain of the club after talks with manager Erik ten Hag.
After weeks of speculation, it has now been confirmed that Maguire will no longer be Manchester United captain moving forward.
The 30-year-old has worn the armband since January 2020 but with his role on the team now limited to cameos and cup appearances, it became increasingly obvious he would lose his captaincy.
Maguire no longer Man United captain
Maguire took to his Twitter account to announce that he had spoken to Ten Hag and the manager has made a decision.
With David De Gea gone, Bruno Fernandes is now the obvious candidate to replace Maguire as captain.
Other options for the role include Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, and former Real Madrid man Caemiro.
