Sources at Maroons indicate Ssekyanzi fits head coach Muhammad Ssenfuma's bill, as he is comfortable on the ball with decent attacking prowess.

Uganda Premier League side Maroons FC are set to scoop Express FC midfielder Faisal Ssekyanzi after the expiry of his contract with the latter.

The attacking midfielder is set to sign a two-year deal with the Prison Warders, ending his three-year spell with the Red Eagles.

Sources at Maroons indicate Ssekyanzi fits head coach Muhammad Ssenfuma's bill, as he is comfortable on the ball with decent attacking prowess.

However, last season, he had limited playing time with the 'Mukwano Gwabangi' as he only played 13 league games, many of which were substitute appearances.

He is set to be the first player at the Luzira-based side in the yet-to-be-opened transfer window.

Ssekyanzi, an Express FC academy graduate, rejoined them at the start of the 2020/21 season after a relatively successful spell with Tooro United.

Express struggled in the recently concluded season, finishing 10th, having garnered just 34 points in 28 matches.

Meanwhile, Maroons, on the other hand, had a decent campaign as they finished a cool sixth with 41 points.
