SUPL Maroons FC lands major sponsorship deal with Ngetta Holdings

Maroons FC announced a significant sponsorship deal with Ngetta Tropical Holdings, a cooking oil manufacturer known for its brand Virgin Gold Sunflower cooking oil.

The sponsorship deal, worth UGX 200 million, was announced on Wednesday, April 19, at the Uganda Prisons Service Headquarters at Parliamentary Avenue in Kampala.

This is not the first time Ngetta Tropical Holdings has sponsored Maroons FC. In 2018, the company had signed a one-year sponsorship deal worth 130 million shillings with the club.

However, due to the interruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the contract was not renewed.

But now, Ngetta Tropical Holdings has returned as the shirt sponsor for the Prisons Warders for a period of one year, with an annual sponsorship amount of UGX 200 million.

During the unveiling ceremony held at Parliamentary Avenue, the Commissioner General of Prisons, Can Dr. Johnson Byabashaija, who is also the Patron of Maroons FC, expressed his appreciation for the partnership between the club and Ngetta.

He further mentioned that the sponsorship deal will benefit not only the football team but also opens avenues for other sports disciplines within the Prisons Service, such as athletics and netball.

He stated, "Our sponsorship deal is not an accident, it's a step in the right direction, and I would like to appreciate the works done by the Maroons FC board.”

“We are a club with a rich history and a rich potential, and may this partnership be the beginning of greater things for both Maroons and Ngetta Holdings."

Paul Omara, the CEO of Ngetta Tropical Holdings Limited, and Member of Parliament for ……..was also present during the signing of the sponsorship deal.

The partnership between Maroons and Ngetta is a positive step forward for the club's development and growth, and both parties are optimistic about the opportunities it will bring.

With the support of the new sponsor, Maroons FC aims to improve its performance in the Uganda Premier League where they are currently placed 10th.
