Mohammed Senfuma’s squad secured a point in their last match, a 1-1 draw against S.C Villa last Sunday.

As matchday four approaches in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League this Tuesday, Maroons FC is determined to return to their winning form during their short trip to Lugogo.

Mohammed Senfuma’s squad secured a point in their last match, a 1-1 draw against S.C Villa last Sunday.

However, the composed coach is keeping a close eye on their upcoming opponents, who are fresh from elimination in the CAF Confederation Cup at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende on Sunday.

“It’s expected to be a challenging game. Despite their recent CAF CC elimination, they might use that as motivation. But we’ve prepared diligently and understand that unity is crucial for victory,” Senfuma shared with Pulse Sports.

The Luzira-based team has garnered four points in four games, with an away win against Wakiso Giants on matchday one and a home draw against SC Villa. Senfuma emphasized the importance of scoring goals on Tuesday.

“We need to score goals; it’s the key to winning matches. We missed several chances against Villa, but we’ve worked on our finishing,” he added.

Meanwhile, KCCA FC’s head coach, Sergio Traguil, remains optimistic about his team’s chances of bouncing back from their failure to secure a CAF Confederation Cup slot.

“It’s a tough situation, and all the players gave their best. They’re disappointed, but the only way forward is to win on Tuesday,” he stated in an interview with the club’s media.

The 13-time league champions are eager to return to the winning column, having suffered a 1-0 defeat to BUL FC on matchday one.

Their CAF Confederation Cup exit, despite a 3-2 win on Saturday against Libya’s Abu Salem, was a setback. The visitors had claimed a 3-1 victory in the first leg.

These two teams faced off in a preseason friendly in September 2023, with Maroons securing a 2-1 victory.
