Drama ensued in Luzira as Maroons fought back to claim a point off Vipers SC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League played on Tuesday afternoon at the Prisons Grounds in Luzira.

Vipers captain Milton Karisa scored in either half, while Fred Amaku and Federicko Kigozi scored for the hosts as the game ended 2-2.

The Venoms got off the mark after just nine minute with captain Karisa slotting home Bright Anukani's assist after he had weaved through the Maroons backline.

Abel Etrude then took charge in the middle of the park, single-handedly carrying his side forward to hurt Vipers.

It paid off in the 19th minute when forward Fred Amaku slotted home unmarked at the far post to level matters.

Vipers were further depleted when assistant captain Siraje Ssentamu was replaced in the 34th minute after picking up an injury, but the first half ended all square.

After recess, the Venoms kept going forward to take the lead, but Emmanuel Akol was pulling off some saves.

However, Milton Karisa returned to haunt him when he finally doubled the Vipers' lead in the 70th minute to register his double on the day.

Just when it looked like Vipers had earned the maximum points, Maroons launched one more attack through a corner kick.

It was there that Federico Kigozi tapped home at the death to level matters and send the capacity home crowd into raptures.

The draw takes fourth-placed Venoms to 29 points after 16 games, while Maroons, who sit sixth, move to 27 points.
