Maroons FC is undoubtedly enjoying their time in the spotlight following their recent exploits in the second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Mohammed Senfuma’s side is on a six-match unbeaten run, including picking up two points against KCCA FC and Vipers SC back to back.
Goalkeeper Simon Tamale has been one of the key players and the UPL Pilsner player for the month of February/March says his motivation stems from wanting to hit a personal target of getting seven clean sheets in the second round.
“Like any other player, my motivation is always to perform well and being a goalkeeper, clean sheets define my performance,” Tamale said.
“My target is to pick up seven clean sheets in the second round; I have picked up three so far, so four more to go.”
The shot-stopper beat Express FC’s Allan Kayiwa, Arua Hill’s Ronald Innocent Media and KCCA FC’s Rogers Mato to the monthly gong.

Now that Maroons FC’s earlier target, which was to stay in the league, has been achieved Tamale says a top-five finish is now their focus.
