The injury is a big blow to Arsenal, who have already lost key players William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko to injury for the season.
Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli will require a scan after leaving the Emirates Stadium in a boot following his injury against Brighton.
The Arsenal forward had to be taken off as a substitute during the first-half of his side’s 3-0 loss to Brighton on Sunday.
Martinelli was also pictured in a protective boot on his left leg after the game, and manager Mikel Arteta has moved to clarify his situation.
He said: “He is in a boot. It is very uncomfortable to walk. He could not play on. We need to scan him.”
The 21-year-old was taken off after 19 minutes after being tackled from behind by Moises Caicedo. It followed Martinelli clattering Kaoru Mitoma.
Martinelli had to be replaced by Leandro Trossard.
Arsenal led the Premier League for the majority of the season but after a run of just two wins in seven they have been overhauled by City. City are now four points clear after their own run of 11 straight league wins.
Martinelli’s side have just two league games left, which means if City win another game or Arsenal lose any, Guardiola and his team will be champions for the fifth time in six seasons.
