The Harambee Stars forward scored twice to help his new side to victory away to Al Arabi as they kept their slim promotion hopes alive
Harambee Stars striker Masoud Juma made it five goals in as many matches when his brace gave Al-Faisaly a 2-0 win over Al Arabi in the Saudi Arabia second division on Tuesday.
Juma, who joined Al-Faisaly in February, has taken to life in Saudi like fish to water with crucial goals for the side who currently sit fifth on the 18-team log.
Juma opened the scoring after just nine minutes as Al-Faisaly made their intentions known early and the away side held on until the 86th minute when the Kenyan international made the points safe with his second of the game.
The former Kariobangi Sharks forward has now scored three goals in two straight games, having opened the scoring as his side drew 1-1 away to Al-Sahel last week.
He also scored in back-to-back games last month, opening his Al-Faisaly account on March 1 when his side lost 2-1 to Al Orubah before netting the equaliser six days later, in a 1-1 stalemate with Al-Qaisumah.
Victory saw the Harmah City-based side remain in fifth position on the log, with 43 points from 26 matches, and with the top four getting promoted to the top tier next season, they have more work to do given they are 10 points behind fourth-placed Al Riyadh.
Al-Faisaly are, however, encouraged by the fact that they have two matches in hand over Al Riyadh which can take them closer to fourth if they win both of them.
They will be hoping that Juma keeps his scoring touch to get them where they need to be in the final eight matches of the season.
Juma, who made his mark by scoring 24 goals for Kariobangi Sharks to emerge top scorer in the 2017-18 season, joined the Saudi side from Morocco’s Difaa Hassani El Jadidi in February following the expiry of his contract.
The former Shabana, Bandari and Cape Town City striker had scored 16 goals in 56 appearances for El Jadidi since joining them 2020.
