Matano insists Tusker are still in a title race even after Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinstry claimed they were out of it.
Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has explained how his charges can still find a way to win the title despite being 12 points behind Gor Mahia.
The gaffer has rubbished his Gor Mahia counterpart Johnathan McKinstry’s claims that Tusker are out of the title race after handing them their sixth defeat of the season by revealing what they will have to do to prove him wrong.
K'Ogalo brought the Brewers' eight-match unbeaten run to an end (five of which were consecutive wins) and now Tusker will have their work cut out to close that 12-point gap with 19 games of the season played.

FOOTBALL Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinstry rules Tusker out of title race
Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinstry has given reasons why he feels Tusker are out of the FKF Premier League title race following his team’s victory against the Brewers on Saturday
“We are still very much in contention and we still have enough energy left to fight tooth and nail for maximum points in our remaining matches,” Matano remarked as quoted on The Star.
"Losing one match in five speaks volumes about our current form and I believe we can extend our impressive run in our upcoming fixture against Bidco on Saturday," Matano stated.
On paper, it may look impossible to bounce back, but Tusker have proven to be a side that can win against all the odds.

FKFPL Free scoring Eric Kapaito weighs up Tusker's title chance
Kapaito has enjoyed a good run in front of goal recently and hopes his goals can still make Tusker win the title despite sitting 12 points off Gor Mahia.
In the now-voided 2021/2022 season, Tusker managed to close the gap on runaway leaders Kakamega Homeboyz to win the title on goal difference, and Matano is adamant they can repeat the same thing if they do a couple of things right.
"We need to sharpen our attack and prove more clinical in front of goal,” Matano stated.
“For example, we had everything going against Gor and managed to create a plethora of chances only to fumble in the final third," the former AFC Leopards boss added.

“We still have many matches ahead of us. We also have the Cup and we must focus on winning one title this season.”
