The goalkeeper joined K’Ogalo in 2020 and has gone on to lift both the FKF Cup and the FKF Premier League title.

Gor Mahia custodian Gad Mathews is willing to stay at the club following the expiry of his contract but has not ruled out a move elsewhere.

Speaking to Pulse Sports, Mathews, who recently shared the Golden Glove award after keeping 17 clean sheets alongside Humphrey Katasi of Nzoia Sugar, said that he would be sitting down with the club to discuss terms and see if he will be extending his two-year stay at the club.

“If there is a team that will need my services, we can have a conversation given my contract is coming to an end,” Mathews said.

“I will see if I can sit down with Gor. I am willing to stay if I see what they are giving me is sustainable.”

Mathews arrived at Gor in 2020 from Kisumu All Stars and nearly left in 2021, saying he had received offers from clubs as far as Sweden after going for months without receiving his dues and signing-on fee.

"I've already received calls from top-tier clubs who expressed genuine interest in securing my signature. Other offers have come from as far as Sweden, but to be honest, I don't want to make a rash decision that I might regret later," he said back in 2021.

During his time at Gor Mahia, Mathews has so far lifted the FKF Cup in 2021 when he famously saved two penalties during the final against AFC Leopards at the Nyayo National Stadium and played a key part in helping the club secure a record 20th league title.
