Mauricio Pochettino has agreed terms to take over at Chelsea and will assume reins for pre-season this summer, according to multiple reports.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed the deal had been agreed just hours after Frank Lampard’s side drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.
It is reported the former Tottenham boss is currently in England with his family whose base remains in London.
The club has spent around £600 million on players since Todd Boehly’s takeover 12 months ago, during which time they have parted ways with coaches Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.
The club has a new center-forward and a new goalkeeper high on their wish list for the forthcoming summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Pochettino’s loyal staff of Jesus Perez, Miguel D'Agostino, Toni Jimenez, and his son Sebastiano are all expected to join him at Chelsea.
Chelsea has three games left this season all against top-four sides; away at Manchester City and Manchester United - and then back at Stamford Bridge for the final fixture against Newcastle United.
It is still not certain whether Pochettino will be in attendance for any of them, but it is stamped Lampard will remain in charge until the end of the season.
Reports had initially linked Pochettino, who was also at PSG in his last job, for a move back to Tottenham.
However, a deal was never close, with the two parties not holding any discussions.
