Young African head coach Nabbi Nasreddine has re-echoed the importance of having in-form forward Fiston Kalala Mayele available for his side ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup final first leg.
The Tanzanian giants host the first leg against USM Alger on Sunday, and the Tunisian tactician says Mayele is a top-class striker in Africa, and his experience, along with others, will be key for Young Africans on Sunday.
“We are lucky to have Mayele in our squad; he is a top-class striker in Africa,” Nabbi stated in the pre-match press conference on Friday morning at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium.
His experience, along with other players, will greatly help us at this stage of the finals,” he added.
Mayele has been in top form, scoring 16 league goals in the league as Nabi’s side retained the league and added a further six goals en route to Young Africans reaching their maiden interclub final.

The 58-year-old also commented on the absence of midfield kingpin Khalid Aucho who is set to miss the two-legged final due to suspension.
“We all feel sad that Khalid Aucho will miss both legs of the final, that’s for sure, but we have spoken to him, and he will be with the team in both games to motivate them to get good results.”
With both clubs making their first appearance in the final, either side will claim their first interclub title in their respective clubs’ history.
The game kicks off at 4 pm at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium.
